Canvas & waxed fabrics
Our Heritage range includes both unwaxed canvas and waxed fabrics. In the RukSak and Vandrák, waxed fabric is paired with leather straps and metal fittings. Other designs use blended fabrics, so the exact composition depends on the product.
Waxed surfaces can show folds, marks and changes in tone as you use them. These changes are part of their appearance; they do not replace checking the condition of the fabric and seams.
Waxed and unwaxed versions can have different uses. For example, choose the unwaxed Gathering Pouch when the product instructions call for it for food gathering.
Wool & wool blends
Wool is part of our approach to cold-weather clothing. The Wool Shirt uses a wool-and-polyamide blend, while the Waxed & Woolen Anorak brings wool fabric together with waxed panels. These are distinct fabrics and constructions: check the composition and care information for your chosen model.
When choosing a layer, compare its garment measurements with the clothing you intend to wear underneath.
Leather
Leather has different jobs across the range: a belt, a compact wallet, a fastening or a carrying strap. Our double-buckle belt uses cowhide with brass hardware; the Nomad Wallet uses a simple fold and two press studs to hold small essentials.
Colour and surface character can vary between pieces and change through handling. Match any care product to the leather and finish of your particular item.
KTX & technical fabrics
Modern includes KTX polyester packs, technical pouches, fleece and membrane clothing. Zálesák combines a classic pack layout with KTX fabric; Warrior adds attachment webbing for compatible accessories. Material and construction are separate choices, so not every Modern product is modular.
Look at the product specification for the fabric, coating and intended use. A water-repellent fabric alone does not establish that an entire sewn product is waterproof.
Care for your particular piece
